On the shores of picturesque Lake Lugano in southern Switzerland near the Italian border, in the shade of centuries-old trees, hidden from prying eyes, there was built a college for the monks of the Order of Don Bosco in the late seventeenth century. The architecture and interiors of this building significantly differ from Swiss houses thanks to its high vaulted ceilings.
In the beginning of the 2000s, this unique residential unit was completely restored, and we are happy to offer one of the most elaborated apartments – a penthouse.
All the windows of a living-room provide a fabulous view of the lake and its shores with beautiful blooming vegetation, mountains, nearby chapels and a bell tower with a clock – a true Swiss landscape.
The penthouse is located in the right wing of the building which is the closest one to the lake and the Don Bosco chapel. A large front door, a staircase and an elevator, a long corridor on the 3rd floor with large windows and panoramic views bring you to the apartment.
The apartment was stylishly renovated and is being sold with furniture and lighting fixtures.
If you enter a long and bright corridor with many windows with beautiful silk curtains, you’ll see a walk-in wardrobe, a door leading to the children's area, the main bedroom area and a guest bathroom. From here you’ll get into a spacious living-room with high ceilings, where 7 panoramic windows give a complete overview of the surrounding nature. The living and dining areas are united by a beautiful liberty-style arch. Both rooms have access to a large, almost square kitchen. The kitchen is also full of light; it has two windows from which you can admire beautiful Swiss landscapes.
A separate area of the main bedroom is a small corridor, from where you can get to the bedroom and a large dressing room, as well as to a spacious bathroom with a window and a small laundry room.
The children's area also has a small corridor that unites a bathroom with shower and 2 children's bedrooms (single and double). Each room has a desk, a library and a wardrobe. The interiors of the rooms are made in bright colours, and beautiful silk curtains add some cosiness.
Leaving home, you find yourself at the pedestrian promenade leading to a small boat station and the beach. There is also a playground.
Maroggia is a small and very cosy town, which is very comfortable both for permanent residence and for leisure. It is conveniently located near the Milan – Chiasso – Lugano motorway. Lugano city centre can also be reached on the promenade in 10 minutes. Such a location provides many advantages for those who like sailing, fishing, and other water activities.
